Episode 60 marks the beginning of the Dark Moon story arc which will occuppy the remaining 7 volumes of Sailor Moon R. As you may remember, the Ann & Ail story was an original plotline created to buy time for Naoko Takeuchi to write more manga.

Note that Usagi now calls Mamoru "Mamo-chan" and he calls her "Usako". These are cute names that signify they are now a couple.

Usagi means "rabbit".

Ep 61:

Droid- Refers to "android," a robot that looks like a a real human. [misc: "robot" comes from the czech word for slave.]

Atsugessho - pun on "atsugeshou" which refers to putting on thick makeup.

Delicateness - This is a big thing in shoujo anime for boyfriends to have. 'delicateshii' refers to men who are sensitive and caring. It doesn't have the 'weak' connotation that the word has it English.

Chibiusa ='chibi' means 'little', 'usa' is short for her name, 'usagi'

Ep 62:

Age Matters- Just as a reminder: Usagi is in 7th grade, but Mamoru is a college graaduate student.

Japan's Educational System: Unlike the USA, Japan's educational system is nationalized and the departement of education dictates what all teacher must instruct. At the end of middle school (Jr. High School), students must take high school entrance exams. Students who fail these exams go to vocational schools. Some private schools are known as elevator schools because the students do not have to take entrace exams to the higher levels. They may, however, have to take an entrace exam to get into the private school as early as Kindegarten! As you can imagine, kids HATE studying for the exams, as well as school in general. There is a lot of debate in Japan on educational system reform.

Nipasu - Japanese snow-style woman. Also a pun of "Nippon" one of the names of Japan.

"I'll send you to Paradise" - According to Japanese Buddhism, Paradise is where people go when they die. It is an empty place where one can concentrate on only enlightingment without other distractions. In context here, of course, it's a thinly-veiled death threat :)
